🧬 Family Genome Archive

Preserve Your Family's
Genomic Record for Life

We help families organize full 30x whole-genome sequencing data, preserve downloadable raw files, and prepare complete genomic archives for future hereditary review as science continues to advance.

Sequence Me is a nonclinical genome data preservation and concierge service. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or genetic counseling.

A Permanent Record,
Not a Summary Report

Most consumer DNA tests give you a fraction of your genome. We help families preserve the complete picture β€” every chromosome, every read β€” stored for life.

Complete Genomic Files

Full 30x whole-genome sequencing produces raw FASTQ, aligned BAM/CRAM, and variant-called VCF files β€” the same data used in clinical research.

Family Hereditary Context

Organize genome data for parents and children in one place, supporting hereditary pattern review with qualified professionals when you choose to pursue it.

Ready for Future Analysis

Genomic science improves every year. Having your raw data preserved means you can reanalyze it as new discoveries emerge β€” without resampling.

You Control the Data

Your genome files are delivered directly to you on encrypted media. No subscription required. No third-party access without your explicit consent.

How It Works

From intake to archive delivery, we guide your family through every step.

1

Intake & Consent

Complete the family genome intake form. We use privacy-conscious naming conventions and collect only what's needed to coordinate sequencing for each family member.

2

Kit Ordering & Shipping

We coordinate with Sequencing.com to place your family's kit order. Kits ship directly to your address with clear instructions for each member.

3

Sample Collection & Activation

Follow the included guidance for saliva or cheek swab collection. Activate each kit online and return using the prepaid shipping materials.

4

Sequencing & Data Availability

Your samples are processed using 30x whole-genome sequencing. Results typically take several weeks. We monitor progress and notify you when data is ready.

5

Archive Preparation & Secure Delivery

We download, organize, and package your complete genome files into a structured archive. Data is delivered on encrypted USB or SSD with a full readme and inventory.

What You Receive

A complete, organized genome archive β€” yours to keep, download, and reanalyze for life.

βœ“

Full Genome Archive

FASTQ, BAM/CRAM, and VCF files from 30x whole-genome sequencing for each family member.

βœ“

Organized Folder Structure

Clearly labeled directories for raw reads, aligned data, variant calls, reports, and documentation.

βœ“

Encrypted USB or SSD

Data delivered on hardware-encrypted media. Password provided separately via secure channel.

βœ“

Readme & Inventory

Plain-language documentation explaining every file, its format, and how to access it.

βœ“

Analysis-Ready Package

Optional downstream package formatted for tools like IGV, GATK, or clinician-supplied pipelines.

βœ“

Family Grouping

Parent-child relationships documented in the archive structure for hereditary pattern context.

Your Identity, Your Control

Genome data is among the most sensitive personal information that exists. We minimize identifiers at every step.

Naming Conventions

We default to privacy-conscious identifiers like initials and birth year.

Example folder structure:

MR-1985 / GR-2020 / AR-2022

Full names are never used in file names, folder names, or metadata unless you explicitly request it.

Minimizing Identifiers

Intake collects only what's needed for kit coordination and delivery. We do not store Social Security numbers, insurance information, or clinical records.

Your genome data is delivered directly to you. We do not retain copies after delivery unless you request backup storage.

Understanding Our Role

  • Sequence Me is an independent technical concierge service operated by Regan. We help families navigate the sequencing and archiving process.
  • Sequencing fulfillment β€” including sample processing and data generation β€” is performed by Sequencing.com, a CLIA-certified laboratory partner.
  • This service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or genetic counseling. It is an exploration to help you know yourself better.
  • For health-related decisions based on genomic data, we strongly encourage review with a licensed clinician or certified genetic counselor.
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any hospital system, insurance provider, or government health agency.

Frequently Asked

Why 30x whole-genome sequencing?
30x coverage means each position in the genome is sequenced approximately 30 times, providing high accuracy and the ability to detect most variants. This is the standard depth used in clinical research and is significantly more comprehensive than consumer genotyping arrays (like 23andMe or AncestryDNA), which test less than 0.1% of the genome.
Will I receive the raw files?
Yes. Your delivery includes the complete raw data: FASTQ files (raw sequencing reads), BAM/CRAM files (aligned reads), and VCF files (variant calls). These are the same file formats used by researchers and clinicians worldwide.
Can this help with family history review?
Having genome data organized by family member can support hereditary pattern review when shared with a qualified genetic counselor or clinician. This service prepares and preserves the data β€” it does not interpret it or provide medical conclusions.
What is included in the delivery?
Each family member receives: a complete genome archive (FASTQ, BAM/CRAM, VCF), organized folder structure, readme and inventory file, and delivery on encrypted USB or SSD. An optional analysis-ready package is available for downstream tools.
Who controls the data?
You do. Genome files are delivered directly to you. We do not retain copies after delivery unless you explicitly request encrypted backup storage. You decide who has access and what happens with your data.
How long does the process take?
From kit delivery to data availability typically takes 6–10 weeks, depending on sequencing lab volume. Archive preparation and delivery adds approximately 1–2 weeks. We provide status updates throughout the process.
